This is gonna be one of my preferred kits because it allows you to carry around your bike of different shapes and sizes, but also carry around some cargo, and you have the fun adjustability of the MHS base. This is the 2+1 base with these accessories. Now, one really cool thing about this too is that when you tilt this whole system away, you are still able to open up your tailgate. Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline right here at Etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at the Saris MHS three-bike kit and see how it fits here on our 2020 Ford F-150. So the MHS is gonna be a modular system, that's what MHS stands for, and our specific kit here has the three DUO trays. We have the DUO trays just because these are gonna be our heavy duty, heavy weight capacity, and versatile trays that are able to carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. So if you need to carry around your heavy electric bikes, the DUO tray is what you're going to want to get. Now, the first two trays are gonna have a weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike, but then your further out trays are gonna have lesser weight capacity. So 35 pounds for this third tray. more

Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 Ford F-150- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Swagman Espec on our 2023, Ford F-150. Going with a hitch mounted bike carrier is a great way to bring your bikes along with you when you're not towing with your hitch and you still need the space in your bed. It's a good way also to keep your bike stable and secure when you're on the road versus just loading it in the back of your truck, also. The Espec is a platform style bike carrier that is frame mounted. So essentially what that is, you're gonna have a hook that makes contact with your frame and your front and rear wheel are gonna strap into cradles. If you have a carbon fiber frame bike or a nice paint job or maybe even an unconventional frame, this wouldn't be the best option for you. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Ford Expedition NV22G- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we have the Kuat NV 2.0. We're gonna be taking a look at how it fits our 2023 Ford Expedition. Now the first thing when carrying around bikes with your Ford Expedition is that the hitch is pretty high up, which also means that you are gonna be lifting your bikes pretty high up to get onto the bike rack. So with a Kuat NV, I would actually recommend taking a look at the sold separately add-on, which is the access ramp, and that is something you can add to this bike rack that way instead of lifting the bikes up and onto the rack, you can then just ramp them up. This does have a 60 pound weight capacity for those heavier bikes. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Hollywood Rack Destination Four. We're gonna be taking a look at how it fits our 2023 Ford Expedition. The main thing with the Expedition is when you do wanna carry around bikes, the hitch sits pretty high up so you are gonna have to lifting your bikes up pretty high in order to get them onto the rack. Another thing is that a Destination Four is one of my favorite entry level compact racks and that allow you to carry up to four bikes without taking up a lot of space. So seeing how this fits on the Expedition, some of the things we will be taking a look at is how much accessibility do we have in the car One example is that this bike rack does not tilt away so if you wanted to open up your hatch you would have to take your bikes off. Another thing is that this does have a weight capacity of 35 pounds per bike. more

So that also means you have to lift those heavy electric bikes high up to get onto their bike rack. Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Bike Rack Review - 2018 Ford Explorer- Video
Hi Matt with etrailer. and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE bike rack on the 2018 Ford Explorer. Now this is gonna be one of our more heavy duty platform bike racks. It's gonna have the potential to hold up the two bikes up the 80 pounds per bike so that's gonna be able to accommodate your e-bikes. And what's also great about that is 80 pounds is a lot of weight, so compared to other e-bike carriers it's gonna outperform most of them. Since it is able to accommodate 80 pounds per bike, it's also gonna be a little bit more difficult to maneuver around but it's also gonna have three tie-down points, two in the tires, and then one on our main frame. more

Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E on our 2021 Ford Ranger. The Destination E is going to be a platform style bike rack able to accommodate up to two bikes, with a very impressive weight capacity of up to 70 pounds, which means that we're going to be able to carry our heavy electric E-bikes which is kind of the main draw, and a lot of the features are built around that idea here with the Hollywood Racks Destination E. As we can see, our main point of contact is going to be on the frame here. So unfortunately, our carbon frame bikes are not really going to be an option available for this rack. But depending on your alternative frame bike, you might be able to adjust the knob to clamp on or if you get some sort of bike adapter part, we could easily accommodate for that. more

Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail on our 2021 Ford Ranger. Now the GuideRail is going to be a platform-style bike rack, with a individual weight capacity for 60 pounds per bike, which is really nice, meaning that our heavier bikes and our electric bikes are going to be an option for this rack. Our two main points of contact are also two ratcheting arms one for the front wheel and one for the back wheel, meaning we are making no frame contact, which also means that our carbon frame bikes and our alternative frame bikes are going to be an option for this rack too. So the amount of different bikes that this rack can carry is a big diverse amount, but how does it really operate with our Ranger Well, the GuideRail has a tilt-away feature that if we pull this handle right here, it'll actually tilt down. And surprisingly enough, with our Ranger here, we can actually lower our tailgate and it does not make any contact. more

This is gonna be a great way to have a tire hold platform style bike rack that can get your heavier bikes out to the trails and on the road that's gonna encapsulate a lot of your heavier mountain bikes and your e-bikes so you won't have to worry about as much. Now let's say you don't have as heavy of bikes and you have carbon frame or odd framed bikes. You luckily have a way of holding it by the tires, not only by the arms, but also we have these straps down here just for some extra stability. But overall, that's a really good setup. Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 Ford Edge- Video
Hi everybody, Cooper here from etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at our Kuat Sherpa on our 2022 Ford Edge. Our bike rack here is going to be a platform style bike rack weighted at 40 pounds for each bike and is going to be contactless frame support, meaning that's going to be great for our carbon frame bikes and our alternative frame bikes as well. In order to engage our tilt away function, we're just gonna go ahead and lift up a little bit on that, allowing us to disengage our lever here, and then just tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle which is going to allow us access into our trunk. Now it's not really enough room to sit down and maybe change my shoes, but it does allow me access into the trunk itself to maybe pick up my shoes or pick up my helmet or my lunch. Now, in order to get our bike frame back up, we're just gonna go ahead and grab it, lift up until we hear that click sound and that means it's back into place. more

This is a very versatile bike rack, great for carrying around bikes in different shapes and sizes. If you're familiar with the Rocky Mounts MonoRail, this is gonna be very similar with another added feature though, which is going to be fender capability. So if you have to carry around bikes with fenders, but maybe you're also carrying around heavier bikes or carbon fiber frame bikes, this is gonna be a good action for you. Now with this being a longer rack though, there are some differences when it comes to how it fits your car. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Maverick- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman XTC2 TILT and seeing how it fits in the back of our 2022 Ford Maverick. Now, the XTC is a platform-style bike rack, holding the bike in these wheel hoops on either side and by our frame, utilizing a frame clamp or a hook in the center. Now, because of the frame hook, in any sort of frame contact, we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes. And because it uses a hook rather than a cradle with a strap, it's not gonna be the best fit for alternative frame bikes, because those downward sloping frames, you're not gonna be able to get a good grab on it with these hooks. Something like a bike adapter bar is going to be needed to ensure a proper fit, and you can find those here at etrailer, just making sure that if you've got one of those bikes, you have that in mind, and maybe look into a different style of bike rack. more

We're gonna dust support 60 pound bikes, so you can get most of the bikes that you can think of on here whether that's mountain, road or up to e-bikes. We have two arms here as our dual wheel mount design but we also have two straps down at the bottom. So you can use this with pretty much any bike that you can think of, whether that's carbon frame, alternative frame, it's got the weight capacity for e-bikes. How's it going, everybody Today we are going to be taking a look at the Swagman CURRENT hitch bike rack. And we're gonna see how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. The CURRENT is going to be a two-bike platform-style rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds. This is designed specifically with e-bikes in mind like we have here, but it will make frame contact. So if you want to mix and match and get like a carbon frame bike on here, we'd recommend it against it 'cause it does make that contact and pulls down. It could potentially damage that frame while you're moving. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Ford F-150- Video
Hey, how's it going, everyone Today we are going to be taking a look at the Yakima FullTilt hanging style bike rack. We're gonna see how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. Because it is a hanging style rack, it's going to make primary contact with our bike up here on the top tube, which means a couple of things. First and foremost that we aren't going to want to use this with our carbon frame bikes. This could potentially damage that while we're driving. Also, if you have a really aggressive alternative frame style bike or a kid's bike, you're gonna have to pick up a bike adapter bar most likely to make it work and fit across the top, similar to this. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Ford F-150- Video
Hey, how's it goin' everybody Today we are going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 Hitch Bike Rack, and how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. The Destination is going to be, like I mentioned, a two-bike rack. It's gonna be a platform-style rack, which means it holds our bike up by the tires down here at the bottom. In our case, our primary mode of contact is gonna be the center mast here in the middle with these rotated padded clamps, and then two straps, one at the front, one at the back. So because it does make that frame contact, we do recommend against using carbon frames, or if you have a nice paint job, just avoiding that. And if you have an alternative style frame, because we can go up and down the mast a little bit it should help, but you might have to be creative with that. more

How's it going everybody Today we are going to be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 base and how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. The base is going to be a two-bike platform style bike rack, capable of supporting up to 60 pounds per bike. In this case, we have our e-bike already loaded up so it is suitable for your e-bike purposes, but you can also get your carbon frame bikes on here 'cause we don't make any frame contact, or alternative frames if you want to. It does have an adaptor kit for you to get some kids bikes on here as well. We do have this primary wheel hook here as our main form of holding onto our bike, and we have one strap down here at the bottom just for a little bit of extra support. So, there are tons of features that come with this rack. more

How's it going everybody Today, we are going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider SE Hitch Bike Rack, and looking how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. This is going to be a two-bike platform style rack, capable of supporting up to 80 pounds per bike which is a lot for a hitch bike rack. So, you can definitely get a couple of E-bikes on here if you'd like to. But we do have a primary contact point of this frame hook here in the middle on our center mast. So, if you wanna use this with your carbon frame bikes I'd recommend against it because we do make frame contact. Although they are padded, we are still pushing down and could potentially damage our frames while we're moving. more

How's it going everybody Today we are going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. The Destination E is going to be designed for e-bikes at buying. It has a weight capacity of 70 pounds per bike. It's gonna hold it up primarily with these trays and cradles down here on the bottom. And our primary point of contact is going to be these rotated padded jaws here on our center mast which is going to hold our bike securely. But because it does make frame contact we'd recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes but because it is able to rotate so much, it should work for a lot of your alternative frame style bikes. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Maverick- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Skaha 2-Bike Rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2022 Ford Maverick. This is gonna be a platform-style bike rack, holding the bike in these wheel cradles and primarily by our front tire. That's gonna be the thing that keeps our bike upright, and for the most part, holds it in place. It doesn't make any frame contact with the bike, so it makes it a great option for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and with the 60 pound weight capacity per bike, it can handle some e-bikes too. Now, like many other kinda higher end platform racks, this does have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more
